It’s the second edition of British Asian Fashion News, thank you for all your feedback and kind words. This time I’ve included an event l attended and hot gossip.
Some of the world’s best Indian & Pakistani designers were in Mayfair for Faisana Fashion Weekend.
India & Pakistan Fashion Week world-renowned fashion designers from both countries all in one fashion show! The programme showcased top Asian fashion designers such as, Anita Dongre, Rina Dhaka and Bhairavi Jaikishan (India); and Umar Sayeed, Nida Azwer and Sania Maskatiya (Pakistan). It was only what Asian dreams are made of all the designers in one show.
The UK holds a tremendous opportunity for South Asian fashion and it was fantastic to be able to experience it all in the heart of London. I went to London to speak to the designers and check out their latest collections just for you. Check out the full blog here >
Khubsoorat Collection & Tasmin Lucia-Khan - TV Presenter and former ITV Day Break presenter Tasmin Lucia Khan is to be the face of British Asian boutique, Khubsoorat Collection.
Recently, she attended The Asian Awards wearing a flamboyant pink dress, which had a lovely combination of western inspired design and eastern touch with the frock detailing.
By being the face of Khubsoorat Collection she follows in the footsteps of R&B singer and Jay Sean and his wife who were the previous ambassadors of Khubsoorat Collection.
It will be exciting to see the Tasmin & Khubsoorat Collection collaboration!
Islamic Fashion - The experts in the fashion industry have identified brands are profiting from Muslim women’s desire to look good. In the last few years researchers have identified the increasing popularity of fashion garments specially made for Muslim women.
No wonder there’s been a surge of popularity for US bloggers such as, Babylailalov (Nura), YaztheSpaz. And representing the UK hijab fashion its Nabiilabee and Zukreat.
The BBC have reported by 2050 a third of UK’s population will be from Black and ethnic minority. With the changing demographics of British Asian’s there is a growing new generation of Muslims yearning for Islamic fashion. Fashion labels such as, Inayah are catering from the markets expanding needs and l’m it will continue to grow rapidly.
Whether you wear an hijab or not, a perfect example of a British brand catering to the Muslim fashion market is Inayah.

Noreen Khan Couture - BBC Radio DJ, Noreen Khan launches her new fashion collection, Noreen Khan Couture collection. Behind the label are Noreen Khan and bespoke designer Gaby Manchanda.
The very first collection includes classic yet beautifully tailored Asian pieces such as, saris, lenghas and churidar pyjama suit and anarkali dresses.
