Gul Ahmed is a household name in Pakistan and around the world. If you’re familiar with Gul Ahmed garments you will know the designer’s famous lawn collections which combine a traditional Pakistani feel yet with a combination of modern cuts and fabric prints. It was a fashion show not to be missed!
Gul Ahmed didn’t let us down with their autumn/winter Fashion Pakistan Week instalment. The runway show started off with dimmed runway lighting, perfect to set the mood to build suspense in the audience. A female silhouette appeared; finally the spot light was on Gul Ahmed to finally reveal next season’s trends. A model wearing a long patterned dress, contrasting pattern scarf and smile emerged down the runway. Little did we know the first garment would set the scene for the rest of the runway collection.
The collection was full of traditional Pakistani elements such as, kameez cuts, flamboyant patterns and colours. The collection featured a variety of suits and styles on offer - from radiant everyday fashion to remarkable party dresses.
The runway show was anchored by ethnic fusions and aztec patterns. It was as if Gul Ahmed brought the best of the worlds ethnic fashion and nowhere else could you find this but in Fashion Pakistan Week.
Other trends from Gul Ahmed fashion house included paisley print jumpsuits, lavish multi-coloured jackets and Pakistani printed dresses. Also, it would not be a Gul Ahmed collection without the famous velvet garments. And the master piece was beautiful velvet beaded cape.
Gul Ahmed has left us inspired and dazzled.
