The secret Winter Glam Trunk Show was for all the fashionistas and ladies searching for new additions to their wardrobe this winter. And even if you weren't looking for anything in particular the event allowed you to collect your thoughts for inspiration and visit three exciting British Asian brands.
Plus advice from the ladies behind the brands first hand comes in handy as we never know what to wear for our body shapes or colours that suit us. If you're anything like my sister you will pick the most comfortable garments, which tend to be blacks and dull grey colours. Well, Winter Glam Trunk Show wanted to break the mould and highlight A/W fashion outfits don't have to be boring and you can feel like a charming fashionista.
The ladies at Lux Couture charmed me into trying their fur garments, which came if a variety of eye pleasing and versatile, cuts and colours. From jackets in different lengths, fur accessorises to gilets you were spoilt for choice. And most of the stock was from the same suppliers as renowned British department stores yet for a fraction of the price.
Just some of my favourites from Lux Couture stall at the Winter Glam London 2015 (below).
For affordable South Asian glamour, who better to review but a fashion brand you need to look out for in 2016, Suzali London. When flicking though the collection, I couldn't help but find a variety of kameez suits l would wear style to give it that Sara flavour as l am sure you would with your personal fashion identity. And when looking at prices l was astonished, most suits under 60 - 90 GBP. It was refreshing to see designer collections at prices l wouldn't walk away and feel bad once spent the cash. And these are the price tags l keep hearing about from Pakistani fashion lovers who tell me they are shocked at the prices they read on tags when coming to the UK. So thank you Sana for not only bringing the Pakistani fashion designers we don't usually see in UK and the prices too!
One of my favourites had to be the kimono, kaftan style kameez, which l could not resist but try on (below). Fashion you could rock with jeans or trousers with my cream coat and wear comfortably in Britain. Especially as l do not want to look like an Xmas tree but l want that elegant eastern/western outfits we see during Karachi and India fashion week.
Suzali London also showcased her party wear (below), focusing more on trendy pastels colour suits. The brand had a variety of specially selected cuts and designs to suit all the different body shapes and ages!!! Something l tend to see missing from South Asian brands. I loved Sana (Founder of Suzali London) was bringing practical and interesting designer collections and not just fashion that makes a profit for the brand but fashion we would wear ;)
Tanaya offers that fusion fashion jewellery with that antique touch but Indian and Pakistani inspired fashion sets we can wear with out plain tops and jeans. If your Pakistani and Indian inspired outfits boring you could jazz it up and it's nice to see a brand that understands the eastern and western outfit issues us ladies tend to have when getting ready for events. The pictures really don't do the brand justice, layering necklaces that complimented each other also worked a treat when you try to recreate the Chanel Bombay runway collection.
From tasteful Indian clutches, jewellery to fusion shawls if you wanted a more classic vintage look to compliment your creations and Tanaya was at hand to assist you to give you that Chanel Bombay inspired style.
If you missed out, not to worry the ladies will be coming together for another trunk show soon. I will be sure to keep you all informed!
