My blogger friends and l were looking forward to Winter Preview at Grosvenor House in Mayfair.
Whether you're a buyer looking to discover new brands or just wanting to get out the house for some fresh air Winter Preview was the place to be yesterday. And as you all know me by know, l don't like to miss the opportunity to see Indian and Pakistani brands showcasing in London. After all, it's a growing market with huge potential in Britain and who better to showcase British Asian fashion than Sara K Blog.
I went in true modern Asian style wearing an on-trend Khaadi high-low kameez, which my sister brought as a present from Karachi a month ago. And where better to rock it then multicultural London.
If you couldn't attend, not to worry as always l have the exclusive photos, updates and trends.
Red Carpet Worthy Sarees with Vow
Vow Bridal Gallery showcased the best of new contemporary bridal styles alongside more traditional wedding dress designs. The brand create made to measure innovative sarees from elegant netted fabric. And it doesn't stop there you can choose the colour, tailoring and fabric.
It was great to speak to the founder who explained how they create modern saree dresses (image 1, below) like we usually see on Lakme Fashion Week runway. The wonderful aspect about the garment on display was the fact that you could even detach the draping fabric for a fabulous western style dress.
The New Asian Woman's Zevar
At Winter Preview Zevar jewellery provided an every day Asian vintage elegance. I'm not usually a fan of vintage silver toned jewellery but l must say Zevar have made it perfect for the UK market. The jewellery can be worn with jeans or with your daily outfits e.g. the bracletes were one of my favourites to give your look that unique edge.
Live in Luxury with Sevo By Sumita Pershad
It was refreshing to see an affordable lifestyle brand, Sevo by Sumita Pershad! I particularly loved the five silver crafted coasters for only 34.50 GBP.
I spoke to the designer and founder who shared her brand journey to making incredible of 21st-century ethnic silver plated masterpieces. The jewellery boxes would make a wonderful birthday present for a loved one or why not purchase the silver plated items to give a close relative a wedding gift they will never forget! And you'll definitely want a boxed gift after viewing Sevo's collection. Now you can make your home look grand with Sumita Pershad's final touches.
Classic Clutches with Mahin Hussain
I was particularly excited to see this next brand. I'm sure most of you would agree when l say Mahin Hussain has created exquisite embroidered clutches. They certainly look like the peak of South Asian fashion. The detailing was incredible and under close examination you really could see the high quality of the embroidery on the clutches.
The smaller clutches were 135 GBP and my favourite the bigger ones were 195 GBP. These classic clutches would be the perfect addition to your wedding outfit. I couldn't help but showcase the finest Pakistani brand by snapping some photos.
An Ocean of the finest Pearls by Chahat
If you didn't know the modern day Asian woman is turning to pearls to add some class to her everyday outfits. And it was great to meet the inspirational lady who started Chahat, a designer and businesswoman she understands the changes need of the modern woman. She was kind enough to demonstrate the interchangeable looks her creative jewellery delivered so uniquely.
Most of her pieces were three necklaces in one for example, you could unclip most of the chunky layered necklaces and use one for a subtle look. Then when you're at a dinner party add another layer of pearls or attached the bag charm element (image 2, below). Chahat shows pearls are the new gold for everyday elegant fashion.
Jyoti Chandok displayed a more Indian fusion, she's not afraid to show her Indian roots and l loved it!
When l receive photos l will be sure to update information on the Jyoti Chandok collection.
An Asian fashion and lifestyle event would be incomplete without the good old shawl. The days are gone when you would buy shawls for your Mum and Aunty Jee. These days if you know how to dress and style yourself you can look dazzling in a statement shawl.
Loving Love Opulence By Dinisha
I was really excited to see Love Opulence By Dinisha which showcased a variety of different styles of jewellery. And when l say 'styles' l mean different looks for all those British and Asian outfits we like to dress in depending on the occasion and destination. For example, l saw British elegance for the days you may be celebrating with your partner in a nice restaurant, Indian bridal for Asian weddings and edgy Indian jewellery if you're going out with the girls (image 2, below).
With Love Opulence your bound to find jewellery for all those different outfits, from chic, boho to British Asian princess.
