The afternoon show at Pakistan Fashion Week 7 featured Bombay Stores which most rushed to their exhibition stall when the show finished, to grab the runway collection. When l arrived to speak to the team sadly most garments were gone. Although l could see why as they had a wide range of everyday subtle yet modern eastern trouser suits judging from their runway collection (above, 1st image). Bombay Stores musts are velvet trousers paired with silk kameez’s and small detailing on parts of the kameez.
If you are wanting to try something different, another fashion trend from Pakistan Fashion Week UK was wide sleeves, loose kurtas with drawstrings. A common trend with some of the designers was mixing ethnic patterned fabrics but to give it that Asian flavour just add a neck border or Pakistani haberdashery such as, multicoloured velvet balls.
If you want a more of a casual look you could go with Momin’s western cut dress with eastern fabrics. Momins can be worn by ladies looking for modest fashion, you could just use the dupatta as a headscarf.
On the other hand if you are looking for a dress for a special occasion and want to make an entrance, you should try one of my personal favourites - a long line velvet jacket is in fashion and a contrasting lengha.
You have to love Pakistan Fashion Week for putting together a runway show with all the different looks, styles and occasions.
