UK Asian fashion icon Fayral Makhdoom Khan and wife of boxer Amir Khan gave birth to a baby girl at the end of May. Their first baby edition to the family. Congrats to the Khans!
Asian Fashion Summit 2014 saw media; designers, bloggers and publications get together and discuss the UK Asian fashion industry. The topics ranged from design, marketing and Asian’s in mainstream media. The event touched upon the barriers and success of British Asian fashion designers. British Asian Fashion Week showcased upcoming British Asian talent in London’s Southbank Centre. Approximately 70% of the designers were fashion designers most of us have not come across or been exposed to previously. They were just in the process of launching their first collection. The blog will be published this month, sorry for the delay.
Earlier this month British Asian Fashion Week designer NG Sarees launched her first open house exhibition to let people view the new and colourful Asian sarees collection. I went to pay a visit last week and spoke to the former primary school teacher, Neela. The blog is to follow this month.
Pakistan Fashion Week 6 arrived in London in the beginning of June; the 2-day show consisted of an exhibition and fashion show. With over 33 pret, casual and party wear Asian designers exhibiting selling their runway collections you were spoilt for choice. You can check out the blog here >
This is not fashion news however, it’s Asian news l thought people may want to know hence l included… Shah Ruk Khan is flying the flag for Asians in world richest actors in the World. Even though Bollywood is one of the largest centres of film production in the world, there was only one Asian actor in the rich list and he came 2nd in the list! Well done to Shah Ruk!
