One of my all time favourite designer collections has to be Chanel’s Bombay Fall 2012 collection.
Chanel not only delivered exquisite garments but the runway show oozed Indian sophistication, elegance and class.
Not only was the runway show amazing yet in real Chanel style all guests to the show got to sit at the grand fashion show in style. It was just as if you were sitting in the Taj Mahal for dinner or in this case - Chanel's Indian Empire.
Chanel's accessorising efforts were some of the best l have ever seen! I was amazed to see eastern fashion with a western twist looking splendid. They combined embodied pieces, sari and classic Asian designs into the collection. Furthermore Chanel added accessorises to finish off the Indian theme and it's truly something special..
If we break it down Chanel used classic Indian designs and added delightful Indian fashion elements infused into one dazzling garment.
Anyone in Chanel’s collection would look like an Indian princess. The collection is truly the peak of Indian elegance.
What makes Chanel’s collection unique?
- Colour – try different shades of cream, gold or silver
- Statement diamante jewellery and pearls
- Add head pieces, simply necklaces pined into the hair
- Net, lace, organza or silk
- Completed with silver or gold finishing
I found some accessories on the high street that would help when recreating the Chanel Bombay Indian inspired look.
I hope you enjoy reading the magazine, as much as I loved sharing the hidden fashion gems and supporting women promoting their fashion business.
