After a year off from fashion blogging, it’s good to be back and starting a New chapter in Fashion.
You may be wondering why I disappeared? No, I didn’t get bored yet I lost my passion for fashion, well, so I thought I did.
I started blogging for a greater good, fashion with conscientious and supporting women to build their confidence and identity through fashion. A passion to drive the delivering of honestly priced fashion gems (an alternative to the high street) and all available online, that you can wear every day. Although I realised it was doing the opposite, with a self-obsessed narcissistic industry of individuals on a selfish mission to achieve fame, status and financial gain. As a result, fashionistas were and are being served with dishonest, terrible service and unethical labels. A vicious cycle, which doesn't recognise all those hard working women starting up or growing their business.
After several years in the fashion industry as a Fashion Editor, I got to the stage where my heart wasn't in it and I didn’t feel like I was improving the fashion industry as I set out to do. Instead I was promoting businesses and events that didn’t care about people, which was against my principles and morals.
I wanted to give up, although as every point, everywhere I turned I heard from female business owners that would contact me for advice and knew I couldn’t give up on them! Not forgetting the readers who would email me saying the blog-magazine was their 'holy grail'. That's when I thought the time to start a new chapter (rebrand) with SARA K Blog and SARA K Boutique emerged!
In the first month of SARA K's new chapter, I recognise and celebrate the brave and inspirational women I've supported (or met) to start their fashion business and launch their labels.
My takeaways, always are true to yourself, go where you are valued and always improve your business (or yourself) for your community!
I hope you enjoy reading the magazine, as much as I loved sharing the hidden fashion gems and supporting women promoting their fashion business. I'm always on the lookout for inspirational women running or thinking of starting up a fashion business. If you're one, please get in touch and you can join me at one of my exclusive meetups for women with fashion businesses.
