Giorgio Armani rocks the runway with power dressing

TrendsSara K

Not so long ago l did a blog called, Grazia magazine’s ‘how to be office cool’ - I enjoy playing with different looks from;

  • Casual when I’m out and about
  • ‘SmartCaz’  (mix of smart & casual) when l am going shopping
  • British or Asian Formal for evenings out dinners & when attending events
  • Office wear from when l am work at work
  • Asian parties when visiting friends and family on special occasions
  • Chilling for when I’m lounging at home

It all depends on the occasion and what mood your in. One of my favourite’s has to be powering dressing and l was inspired to do a fashion blog to inspire you when it comes to what to wear to work. l love finding new ways to rock out my formal work looks and outfits. For me sometimes its smart, ‘smartcaz’ or just casual on Fridays.

I remember coming across the Giorgio Armani AW14 collection at Milan Fashion Week A/W 2014 runway and they had some sophisticated yet elegant high fashion inspiration.

Giorgio Armani Office wear

For the Autumn and Winter 2014 collection Giorgio Armani revamped the classic British office wear look for the 21st century businessman to give them a more powerful yet modern emphasis. The designer used basic silhouettes of beautifully cut work garments. For example, Armani includes the must have’s for your work wardrobe – blazer, bag and shoes.

Giorgio Armani kept it simple with staple pieces in every outfit e.g. fur jackets were the main focal point in many of the looks. After going seeing fur coats in Portobello Market, l can imagine the luxury designer fashion on the Milan runway.

If you want to create an Giorgio Armani inspired look but give it that Asian fusion you can always add a subtle Asian print blouse or print trousers paired with a matching plain top and blazer.

I decided to give the posh work look ago, it may not be Giorgio Armani garments but hey its GA inspired and more importantly very Sarah and that’s the main thing. I was attending Zena Couture exhibition so l wanted to look presentable as l would be having a sit down with the lovely lady behind the label :)

The look consists of black leather cuff sleeves top, black & white patterned trousers. Leather pointy wedges topped with a ceramic black watch with diamanté detailing.

Please feel free to share you fabulous looks, l would love to see!

I hope you enjoy reading the magazine, as much as I loved sharing the hidden fashion gems and supporting women promoting their fashion business. I'm always on the lookout for inspirational women running or thinking of starting up a fashion business. If you're one, please get in touch and you can join me at one of my exclusive meetups for women with fashion businesses.
