Glamorous Giambattista Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 had an array of fabulous eye-dazzling collections.
One of my favourites was Gambattista Valli who had some wonderful colourful floral embroidered pieces with contrasting silvers, pinks and blacks satin fabrics with bows.
These are only just some of the pieces were fully embroidered with 3D floral pieces and others were partly embroidered as Valli focused on other elements such as adding satin sashes and waist belts.
My favourite was this number…
The simple yet sexy design coupled with the thick netted/crochet style fabric. The 3D hand stitched flowers give it character.
I love the idea of 3D flowers on fabrics. I decided to do more research and found this fantastic tutorial >
You can always buy organza flowers you can add with safety pins, similar to a brooch. Using the attachable and detachable method makes it easier to wash garments too.
Secrets; Its time we started playing with embroidery, haberdashery followers and sequins! Try making some simple floral patterns.
I love these outfits, especially for parties it gave me floods of ideas.
