We visited one of the veins for Asian fashion, Green Street in London to find out the latest fashion trends.
Both Asiana advertising boutiques Henna Mehndi’s and Raishma were trending on block coloured salwaar kameez.
Both fashion designer labels seemed to love orange, blacks and burgundies. Tapestry and Asian pattern pieces were used in the centre of the dresses.
I liked Raishma’s twist of using block colours by using redy/orange net crochety.
Other garment colours used were pink on yellow and blue and turquoise. Springs come sooner than we thought.
Top tips is to use contrasting colours or fabrics but experiment with a piece of the fabric and sew what looks great on your skin tone. If you use patterned pieces, keep the design simple. If the fabric is plain, why not create something different like a casual two toned kaftan as seen in our 'Jan's Best Dressed Social Fashionistas'.
I hope you enjoy reading the magazine, as much as I loved sharing the hidden fashion gems and supporting women promoting their fashion business. I'm always on the lookout for inspirational women running or thinking of starting up a fashion business. If you're one, please get in touch and you can join me at one of my exclusive meetups for women with fashion businesses.
