Office Wear Trends From Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 15

Runway, TrendsSara K

If your looking for everyday office wear fashion trends but with a Indian fusion, l am here to help.

I found fashion on the British Asian high street does not represent the real Asian women of Britain today! For instance l go to work, most of you reading this blog work too and you and l have no blog or person to inspire us when putting our look for the next day.

We all want to look unique, individual and celebrate our identity such as, being Asian! And what frustrates me the most is the British and Asian high street does not cater to office looks.

When l went to the Asian Fashion Summit last year a peer said it was due to the high street catering to ladies who work and want office wear. On the other hand, l don't see any Asian flavour, most of the fashion is typical plain and boring prints on a blouse e.g. off white and blue strips or one tone blouses.

I'm quiet certain there's a market for fusion British Asian to offer us British Asians innovative office wear.

I have come to the assumption this is due to older generations in British Asian society not expecting Asian women to work. And most can agree with me when l say this is now old news, things are slowly changing and most when are working.

Even Mums are now going back to work from maternity leave, wives are going into business and being business women. You could be a young professional, a Mum/Aunty going back to work after having kids? Or just want to feel great and enjoy some power dressing styles.

Today l have been searching for office wear fashion and where better to look but South Asian giant... Lakme Fashion Week, which took place in India earlier this year!

And here are my top 3 fashion designers who showcased office wear with an Indian touch.
