Isn't it annoying when you're looking through the wardrobe trying to find something to wear to work and from looking out the window you know most your clothes won't do? Well, unless you're crazy, you can't wear your lovely spring and summer blouses because it's freezing.
l may have a solution, essentially you need some basics in your wardrobe that you can take off your winter coat and feel confident yet still comfy at the same time. Not forgetting to mention you want to be warm in the office as it always seems to have that nippy breeze lingering around your desk. Well, you simply need some blazer jackets, trousers to compliment nicely and then you can wear your coat on top for that extra layer to keep you warm in the snowy weather. Plus you can always wear thermals under your trousers if you're always cold like me.
I spotted some gems in the sales, which still seem to be high street brands as shops try to get rid of AW14 collection for the SS15 trends.
As SS15 crops up the shops try to get rid of this seasons (AW14) clothing as fashion brands want to be a season ahead. Due to this fact you're bound to find winter garments at sale prices. Whereas if you're like me and western fashion designer, your 2/3 seasons ahead ;)
l believe if you buy classic items no-one notices the difference at work. Let's be real your there to work and basically do the job (looking professional is the bounce!) Unless you work in fashion no-one cares if you're wearing your mums 1970's jacket or AW15 Gucci bag.
I picked some of my favourites from my personal office-wear favourite high street brand, Zara;
- Navy velvet blazer (was £49.99 now £29.99)
- Camel trousers with a tan belt (was £29.99 now £15.99)
- Beige blazer jacket (was £49.99 now £29.99)
- Cream leather look trousers - a Friday must which is also available in black (was £29.99 now £15.99)
How not to wear leather look trousers
I have to add this next part as l have seen ladies wearing the leather pants and it looks awfully dreadful. If you wear the cream leather feel trousers remember one thing, one wrong move will give off the wrong look.
For that elegant look add a classic full-sleeve off-white blouse (no cleavage on show as most would say 'slaggy') and add a necklace which rests closer to your neck and top it off with a extra long knit creamy cardigan. That way you can even get away with wearing heels and not looking 'slaggy' due to the extra long jumper drawing away from the impact on the shine of the leather trousers. It's amazing how much difference a quality maxi cardigan can make, you can always swap necklace with a waist belt.
Just have a go and you'll see the look elevates casual elegance yet you still have that fashionable 'wow' element.
